Hazards and Risk Analysis of Deterrent Extraction Process with Alternate Solvent.

Abstract

A program has been conducted to compare the hazards associated with the replacement of a benzene-ethyl acetate cosolvent with dichloromethane in the extraction or nitrocellulose recovery phase in ball propellant manufacture. The evaluation showed that the proposed use of dichloromethane will result in a less hazardous operation. (Author)
