Unit Dining Facilities.

Abstract

The study concerned identification and evaluation of alternatives to the present method of feeding personnel in maneuver and other appropriate units organic to armored, infantry, and mechanized divisions while in the field. Current food service capabilities and methods of employment of the respective units were examined and alternatives involving consolidation of food service operations at various levels were evaluated. Analysis resulted in a determination that a system of consolidated food service operations would be feasible in most armored, infantry, and mechanized divisional units and that a potential savings of 37 percent in the number of food service personnel required might be achieved.
