DSU Repair Parts Stockouts

Abstract

The DSU Repair Parts Stockouts Study was designed to identify the reasons for class IX zero balances at the divisional maintenance battalion level. Parts identified as problems at the retail level were also examined at the appropriate Army Materiel Command commodity command. Data from four Army divisions in the continental United States and five Army Materiel Command commodity commands were used to support findings and recommendations. In addition to zero balances, the subjects of cancellations, receipt procedures, training, followups, supply performance, supply management, procurement, and essentiality coding are discussed.
