Relationships Between Detection and Estimation: Scalar and Array Processing.

Abstract

In this work the interrelationship between detection and estimation both for scalar and array processing is investigated. Changing environmental conditions reflected in fluctuating noise levels and spatial and temporal uncertainties necessitate the design of flexible space-time processing techniques with good performance characteristics. This work contributes to a basis for adaptive processing, including adaptive array processing.
