Program for Experimental Investigation of Failure Prognosis of Helicopter Gearboxes

Abstract

This report presents the results of an experimental program to collect, document, and process sensor data from UH-1 helicopter 90 deg gearboxes under carefully controlled conditions. The object of the program was to establish experimentally which types of sensors and what kind of data processing give useful prognostic information.
