On the Lulejian-I Combat Model

Abstract

This paper contains a review and summary of the Lulejian-I combat model together with comments and criticisms concerning the model. Emphases are on discussion of attrition equations in terms of underlying families of assumptions, on the optimization aspects of the model, and on the iterative model used in the model to jointly compute FEBA movement and ground combat casualties. Also treated are geographical, structural, and organizational aspects of the model.
