Recent Progress in Balloon Film Research (1965-1975).

Abstract

Ten years of research in the field of balloon film materials are reviewed. For simplicity, only essential details of the work are given and only the barest outlines of published papers are included. The zero-pressure free balloon is given prime consideration and the remarkable progress in controlling the mechanical properties of polyethylene to achieve improved balloon performance is discusssed.
