Abstract

This report contains the two formal reports which were generated by the Swift-Running Rivers Work Group during its tenure, between June 1974 and August 1975. The Group was formed in response to a mandate from the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Coast Guard to investigate what appeared to be major aids-to- navigation problems in the Western Rivers System of the United States and to recommend a long-term R and D approach to their solution.
