The Brigade with or without Organic Combat Support and Combat Service Support.

Abstract

There are six chapters to this study. In Chapter I the background and reason for the study is given. In Chapter 2 a proposed brigade with organic combat support and combat service support is postulated. Possible changes in the division are also proposed. Chapter 3 is the operational environment for the brigade. Chapter 4 looks at our allies and potential enemy. Chapter 5 is an analysis, while Chapter 6 is the conclusions of the study project. The current division, brigade and battalion are the result of organizational development that was reached in 1944 in the WW 2 'light' armored division. This study concludes that the brigade should immediately be provided with organic combat service support and that organic combat support should be provided after further study and justification.
