Avoidance of Collateral Blast Damage to Increase Survivability of Military Telecommunications Networks.

Abstract

This report develops a computer program for determining avoidance distance for various probabilities of not being damaged to a specified level. The computer program exploits new algorithms and mathematical approximation methods for blast damage developed by the DIA. The sensitivity of the avoidance distance to changes in various parameters was studied and no unexpected conditions were found. The results of the study are assembled in 11 tables for use in providing guidance in avoiding collateral blast damage. (Author)
