Draft Military Characteristics for Flashblindness Protective Device.
Abstract
Flashblindness Protective Device is to be a device to provide individuals and crewmembers of Army vehicles with positive protection against flashblindness from nuclear bursts. As a first priority, the device will be developed for crewmembers of aerial vehicles. The device must provide protection automatically or manually so that visual reference, both inside and outside vehicles can be established with minimum delay. Device should be lightweight, inexpensive, and simple to operate and maintain. Sufficient devices should be provided to Army units to give protection to crewmembers of all Army vehicles in the theater of operations.
