A Unit Oriented Study of Army Resource Accounting Structure (PE/UIC Study).

Abstract

This project has involved examination of the interface between two resource accounting categories or management languages: the 5 Year Defense Program (FYDP) Program Element (PE) and the Unit Identification Code (UIC). Improved interface of these management languages is seen as a way to improve the accuracy and consistency of manpower and equipment reporting, to simplify the process of resource programming and to improve communications within and between the Army, OSD, and Congress.
