ENDO Atmospheric-EXO Atmospheric Radar Modeling TSAR/FSAR Modeling. Volume III.

Abstract

This volume describes the integration of time scanned array radar (TSAR) and frequency scanned array radar (FSAR) system simulations into the Radar System Simulation Model (RADSIM). Section 2 discusses the theoretical concepts behind TSAR and FSAR techniques. It begins with the basic theory of phased arrays and array beam steering, and develops from these basic concepts the theory of TSAR and its associated beam steering. Finally, a discussion of the TSAR subsystems - the control generator, the interleaved array, the feed network and the search and track computer - is also included. Digital simulation of TSAR and FSAR subsystems through use of special TSAR and FSAR modules and basic RADSIM modules is discussed in Section 3. The documentation of specialized TSAR and FSAR modules is included and follows the same format as that of Volume II.
