Evaluation of the PHI-5B Navigation Computer System Installed in An AO-1B Airplane.

Abstract

The PHI-5B Navigation System as installed in the AO-1B receives input information from the AN/APN-129 Doppler Radar, MA-1 gyro compass, and C12405-00-005 true-airspeed computer systems, and correlates this information to give airplane position data to the pilot at all times. In addition, a tie-in is made with the AN/ARN-30 OMNI set and the AN/ARN-59 ADF, permitting a display of either OMNI or ADF information on the PHI-5B indicator.
