Service Test of AN/APX-68 Lightweight Airborne Transponder

Abstract

The AN/APX-68 Lightweight Airborne Transponder was service tested by the US Army Aviation Test Board. The AN/APX-68 Lightweight Airborne Transponder is an airborne beacon which provides automatic radar identification to all suitably equipped interrogation stations within the operational range of the system. The transponder receives, decodes, and responds to the characteristic interrogations of operational Modes 1, 2, and 3/A. When used with necessary auxiliary equipment, the transponder will respond to valid Mode C and Mode 4 interrogations.
