Rare Earth Ion-Host Lattice Interactions. 10. Lanthanides in Y2SiBe2O7

Abstract

Theoretical crystal field parameters, Stark split energy levels, and squared matrix elements of the electric dipole operator between these Stark split energy states for the triply ionized lanthanide ions in diyttrium silicon beryllate are calculated. Lattice sums were performed to obtain crystal field components for the Y(3+) site by using reported x-ray data.
