Low Loss Modulators for Infrared Lasers

Abstract

This report shows how magneto-optical properties of bound state transitions may be used to design components significantly more efficient than conventional designs for infrared and submillimeter wavelengths. It is shown that magneto-optical spectroscopy can also provide information about basic parameters of a system not easily obtainable by other means.
