Elasto-Plastic Behavior of Plates and Shells

Abstract

For an isotropic solid shell, a yield condition, a strain-hardening rule, and a flow rule have been formulated in terms of the membrane forces and bending moments and the strains and curvatures of the middle surface. The results of the proposed theory are compared to the results of the through-the- thickness integration of the stress-strain relations of the material.
