ORACLE, a 2-Dimensional, 3-Dimensional Finite Element Computer Program for the Linear Elastic, Thermal Stress Analysis of Solid Continua, Users Manual.
Abstract
The input data and formats are described for the ORACLE finite element computer program. This program may be used for the linear elastic, thermal stress analysis of solid continua. The element library contains 3-dimensional solid elements with displacement representations varying from linear to full quadratic. Also included are plane strain/stress elements and axisymmetric ring elements with similar displacement variations for analysis of 2-dimensional problems. Provision also exists for a 3-dimensional and a 2-dimensional user supplied element. Material properties are temperature dependent and general orthotropic. An option is provided to permit the property temperature dependence to vary within the element or the element may be treated as isothermal with constant properties. Thermal loads, pressures, concentrated forces or specified displacements may be applied.
