Environmental Test Program for Evaluation of Fluidic Elements for the Department of the Army Harry Diamond Laboratories.

Abstract

This is the final report on the program to test proportional laminar fluidic amplifiers and circuits under environments of temperature and vibration. The amplifiers were operated on both air and hydraulic oil (MIL-H-5606). The temperature range was 25C (77F) to 135C (275F) for air tests and 16C (60.8F) to 57C (134.6F) for hydraulic tests. Performance characteristics monitored for the different temperatures were pressure gain, common mode rejection, input impedance, output impedance, and power jet impedance. Where applicable, air tests were performed at both constant power jet Reynolds numbers and constant supply pressure. Hydraulic tests were made at constant power jet Reynolds numbers. Pressure gain in a vibration environment was monitored for air operation only. (Author)
