The Limit-Point, Limit-Circle Nature of Rapidly Oscillating Potentials.

Abstract

The report analyses the Weyl limit-point, limit-circle classification, i.e. the number of linearly independent solutions in L square(0,infinity), of the equation y2(x)-q(x)y(x) = 0 (0 -< or = x < infinity), where q(x) has the form q(x) = x to the alpha power p(x to the beta power), alpha and beta being positive constants and p(t) a real continuous periodic function of t.
