Solid State Integrator Shaft Assembly.

Abstract

The report covers the design build and flight test of two prototype solid state integrator shaft assemblies (SSISAs) as a direct replacement for a high-failure-rate electromechanical integrating shaft assembly (ISA), which is located in the CP-751 AN/ASN-31 navigation computer. The two prototype SSISA units are continuing to be tested in the A-6E and E-2B aircraft. To date, no failures have occurred in either of the SSISA units, or the CP-751 computers, of which they are an integral assembly.
