Preliminary Design and Construction Guidelines for Vertical Construction in Desert and Tropical Theaters of Operations.

Abstract

This study provides a simple description of the basic principles and guidelines that should be observed in designing and planning shelters in desert and tropical climates. The study identifies preferred materials, design, and construction details for use in the theater of operations (TO). Findings are based on actual Army field experience and research of existing literature pertinent to construction in desert and tropical regions. (Author)
