FGGE and Its Potential Benefits to the Navy

Abstract

The objectives and historical background for the First GARP (Global Atmospheric Research Program) Global Experiment (FGGE) are presented. The required observational systems and the proposed data processing for the experiment are reviewed. The potential benefits to the Navy of a successful FGGE are discussed.
