A Practical Computation Method for Steady State Solution of M/E sub k/c Queue

Abstract

Numerical tables available for poisson arrivals and Erlang service time type queueing systems are discussed. A new approximation method for steady- state information and waiting time distribution of this queueing system was developed. Validity of approximation was established directly for the large waiting times and by simulation for the smaller values. The developed method enables one to find delay probability, expected number in the queue and in the system, expected time to be spent in the queue and in the system, and probability of waiting for more than a specified time t.
