Electron Beam IEMP Simulation Development

Abstract

This report describes work performed to develop improved simulation sources for IEMP studies. Modifications were made to a pulsed electron beam generator to improve current risetime and sychronize machine output with other events. Electron beam diagnostics were developed and calibrated for characterization of environments for IEMP cavity studies. One such study is reported on which involves the phenomenon of enhanced cavity transport when dielectric surfaces are present.
