Air Force Plant Cognizance Program: An Evaluation.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to review the history of the Air Force Plant Cognizance Program, evaluate the present criteria for assigning plant cognizance, and recommend changes. The main conclusion of the study was that the present criteria for assigning plant cognizance is time consuming, vague and subject to interpretation. The recommendation of the study was to streamline the plant assignment process by tying it to the Defense Systems Acquisition Review Council (DSARC) process.
