Large Scale Atmospheric Electric Fields: Comparisons with Balloon Data.

Abstract

A new more general technique for calculating large scale electric fields in the Earth's atmosphere is developed. This allows more detailed and accurate mapping of tropospheric fields upward and upper atmospheric fields downward; interactions in the stratosphere can be explored. Electric Field Data from stratospheric balloons are compared with the predicted fields. (Author)
