Curves: A Cost Analysis Curve-Fitting Program.

Abstract

This report describes a FORTRAN-IV curve-fitting computer program (CURVES) that makes least-squares determinations of the parameters of any of eight types of equations selected by the user, given a set of observations on the dependent and independent variables of interest. The types of equations that can be fitted are: linear, quadratic, power, asymptotic-power, exponential, logarithmic-linear, and two types of semilogarithmic-linear. Except for the quadratic and asymptotic-power equations, up to seven independent variables may be used. Y-intercepts may be specified for all equations except the power and exponential.
