Design and Test of an LHS Lateral Control System for a T-2C Airplane.

Abstract

An 8000 psi hydraulic lateral control system was designed and tested for future evaluation in a T-2C airplane. Analyses were performed to estimate hydraulic fluid temperatures and pump suction line pressurization during flight. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine fluid temperatures, pressure surges, stability, and endurance. The tests demonstrated the system is satisfactory for progressing into the flight evaluation phase of the program. (Author)
