Effects of Soil Surface Conditions on Drawbar Pull of a Wheeled Vehicle.

Abstract

The general purpose of the WES study was to investigate the effects of surface conditions on the drawbar pull of a wheeled vehicle. The specific purposes were to: (a) relate measurements of drawbar pull (optimum tractive coefficient) to measurements of surface soil strength made with a variety of instruments, and (b) develop tentative equations for predicting optimum tractive coefficient.
