Errorfree Compression of Digital Imagery.

Abstract

The notion of source entropy is used to place an upper bound on the redundancy in a digitized aerial image. Two image transformations designed to reduce statistical dependence followed by Huffman coding of the transformed data are compared to one another and to the source entropy.
