The CODASYL Data Description Language: Status and Activities, April 1976,

Abstract

The CODASYL Data Description Language Committee (DDLC) was instituted to take the work of the CODASYL Data Base Task Group (DBTG), as reflected in its April 1971 Report as as base and to develop from it specifications for a host-language independent data description language (the schema DDL). The DDLC held its first meeting November 30, 1971. Various changes have been made in the schema DDL language specifications to reflect the development of data base systems technology. This report describes briefly the current status and activities of the CODASYL DDLC, the status of the DDLC language specifications, and future directions for DDLC work.
