An Improved Algebraic Relation for the Calculation of Reynolds Stresses.

Abstract

In this paper an algebraic relation for the Reynolds Stresses has been obtained through a consideration of the transport equations of the Reynolds Stresses. This analysis provides a second-order approximation to the Boussinesq eddy viscosity hypothesis. The basic assumption of the analysis is that the derivatives of the ratio of the Reynolds Stresses and energy is small in comparison with the other terms. (Author)
