Timing Figures for Inverting Large Matrices Containing Complex Numbers Using the STARAN Associative Processor.

Abstract

This report is a follow on to AD-A009 643, 'Timing Figures for Inverting Large Matrices Using the STARAN Associative Processor.' In that report timing equations were developed for matrices consisting of real numbers whereas this report deals with complex numbers. Algorithms and timing equations are developed for matrices of rank up to 511 and matrices with 512 < rank < 1023. Results indicate that it takes 2 1/2 to 4 times longer to invert matrices consisting of complex numbers than it does for real numbers.
