General Estimates for Linear Functionals in Nonlinear Problems.

Abstract

A general theory for estimating linear functionals in nonlinear problems is given, in terms of the gradients of a generating Lagrangian functional. The theory is illustrated by finding bounds on the deflection of a nonlinear cantilever beam. (Author)
