Summary Report of the Task Force on Training Technology.

Abstract

The Task Force examined the R and D programs of the Services and DARPA in each of the following six functional areas of training: (1) Recruit Training, (2) Specialized Skill Training, (3) Officer Acquisition Training and Professional Development Education, (4) Flight Training, (5) Weapon System Trainng Subsystem Development, and (6) Crew, Group, Team, and Unit (CGTU) Training. Extensive data were provided by the laboratories concerned with R and D on training equipment and procedures, by the training commands, training equipment program mangers (PM's) and system project offices (SPO's), ASD(M and RA), and to a lesser extent by industrial sources. The summary findings and general recommendations follow.
