New Concepts for Provisioning Parameter Estimates. Part II. Task Distribution and Washout Rates.

Abstract

Several promising approaches of initially estimating maintenance (MTD) and replacement task distributions (RTD), and washout (condemnation) rates are discussed. Values of these parameters are important in the determination of initial provisioning quantities at different echelons of support. An inductive procedure is outlined for estimating MTD's and RTD's of components using a system block analysis. A separate study is recommended to pursue and develop the methods for estimating washout rates of reparable components. A summary of current practices is included. (Author)
