UH-1H Downwash Velocity Measurements

Abstract

Field measurements were made to determine the velocity of the horizontal and vertical downwash flow beneath the rotor of a UH-1H helicopter. Maximum downwash velocities measured during 7-sec periods are recorded for direction of flow, distance from center of rotor rotation, hover height, and heading.
