Reading and Readability Research in the Armed Services.

Abstract

This report contains the proceedings of a 1975 Conference on Reading and Readability Research in the Armed Services. The Conference brought together reading and technical writing/readability experts from civilian R and D centers with R and D specialists and operational personnel within the Armed Services for focused discussion on reading and readability/text design problems in the Services. This report presents the perspective papers prepared by research personnel representing the Air Force, Army, and Navy; the comments and suggestions by the civilian consultants; and recommendations for future R and D in the Services.
