International Symposium on Applied Military Psychology (12th),

Abstract

The theme of the conference (held in Paris in April 1976) was The Contribution of Psychologists to Military Effectiveness'. Each participant was requested to bring examples of successful and unsuccessful programs which were initiated and/or implemented by behavioral scientists. Topics of discussion included recruitment and selection of armed forces personnel, training programs, conscientious objectors, the growth of unions in the armed forces, personnel research and training programs, leadership training, and the role of the psychologist in the armed forces.
