A Consolidated Computer Program for Control System Design (CCPCSD).

Abstract

Several different computer programs have been independently developed for control system design and analysis. Each program may have its own input and output formats (different from any other), and each program may have its own operating philosophy. This report describes CCPCSD and its development, its specifications, organization, realization, testing, and results. The CCPCSD contains 4 previously written A.F. Inst. of Technology computer programs for control system design algorithms (ROOTL, FREQR, PARTL, and POLY) and a lead-in program which controls the overall flow of CCPCSD. An overlay structure is used. The structure consists principally of an executive (main) overlay and four primary overlays (one for each subprogram mentioned above). Each subprogram is modified towards standardizing inputs, termination procedures, and data structure (where feasible). CCPCSD is developed to be used by control systems engineers and/or students. This computer-aided design tool can be operated from an intercom terminal, where operator-computer interaction takes place.
