Synthesis of Rationally Designed Organic Compounds for Malaria Chemotherapy Studies.

Abstract

During the present report period, 20 compounds of the following categories have been synthesized, characterized, and submitted for antimalarial evaluation: (a) compounds having a triangular structural feature common to many causal prophylactic antimalarial agents, and (b) deazafebrifugine and related compounds. 8-(6-Amino-4-heptylamino)-6-methoxy-4-methylquinoline diphosphate exhibited good antimalarial activity against P. berghei.
