COMRADE Executive System Users Manual.

Abstract

The COMRADE Executive System is a set of general purpose interactive supervisory software, currently operational on the DTNSRDC CDC-6700 SCOPE 3.4 computer system, which facilitates the definition, construction, and execution of sequences of computer activities called command procedures. Such activities include issuing tutorials, accepting user input, attaching files, and executing application programs. This report describes the use of the Executive System for constructing integrated systems of application programs and user-oriented system interfaces, and discusses the Executive's administrative and interpretive functions, the communications involved and various internal utility routines called upon. Particular emphasis is placed on the interpretive functions and the primitive operations which are performed in response to user requests. The use of the Procedure Definition Language to define the activity sequence of a command procedure is also described. (Author)
