A Simple, High-Power, Low-Cost Nitrogen Laser for Dye Laser Pumping.

Abstract

The design and construction of a simple, low cost, high power nitrogen laser is reported. The laser meets the optimum requirements for a dye laser pump source: 10-12 nsec FWHM, 1MW peak power, high peak-to-peak stability, and optimum operation to 50 pps. A novel electrode design and circular output beam cross section are emphasized. (Author)
