Blast Capacity Evaluation of Single Revetted Barricades.

Abstract

A series of four explosive tests was performed to evaluate the blast resistance capacity of single revetted barricades when they are positioned close to explosions. Test results indicated that a typical earth-bermed cantilever wall barricade of the configuration tested will have a capacity to resist a maximum of 3,600 to 4,500 kg (8,000 to 10,000 lbs) of H.E. Further testing is needed to establish quantitative means for determining the capacity of barricades. Also, additional barricade designs should be developed for use with large quantities of explosives. (Author)
