Forecast Guides used for the Centralized Terminal Forecast Program.

Abstract

The Forecast Guides contain an organized discussion of the synoptic weather types that occur in the U. S., a regional description of the synoptic effects, and an individual station breakdown of the local differences in these effects. This information is complied as a training pamphlet for new forecasters at Air Force Global Weather Central. An extensive knowledge of the local effects at each station is necessary for successful forecasting from a centralized facility. This document is being published for use by other Air Weather Service units as a training aid.
