The Effect of the Operational Readiness of the Float on the Operational Readiness of the Entire Fleet.

Abstract

In general, for a fleet of aircraft, the operational readiness of the float is much lower than that of the rest of the fleet. The inclusion of the float in the calculation of the operational readiness for the fleet causes the operational readiness to be lower than it would otherwise be. Formulas are derived which show the magnitude of the decrease in the operational readiness and the relationships between the operational readiness rates of the fleet and its float.
