Report of 1975 Microbiological Data Collection Program,

Abstract

This is the fourth of a series of reports which tabulate the results of food microbiological testing (except fresh dairy products) performed by official Department of Defense medical laboratories. Addition of 1975 data to that tabulated in previous years has resulted in a food microbiological data bank which is proving to be useful in many ways. Sufficient scientific information is contained within the file on which to base guidelines on comminuted beef products, delicatessen salads, and prepared sandwiches. Public health information concerning food poisoning outbreaks in Department of Defense facilities is contained within the file. Certain subsistence items have been identified as 'problem items' in the subsistence system.
