Normal Stress, Temperature, and Performance Properties of Military Aircraft Tires.

Abstract

Measurements were made of the normal stress and temperature of the 20 x 4.4/12 PR Type VII military aircraft tire while rolled at various speeds. On one tire, normal stress was measured at five locations in the tread area at the carcass and tread interface. On the second tire, the contained air temperature, contained air pressure, and the carcass temperature at the carcass and tread interface was recorded. (Author)
